Thessaloniki’s culture in the spotlight at the Forum of the Polish Chamber of Tourism

From September 28th to October 2nd, 2025, Thessaloniki welcomed more than 70 members of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, within the framework of the Annual Forum, which was held for the first time in Greece. The event was organized by the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization’s office in Poland and the Polish Chamber of Tourism.
The conference was honored by the presence of representatives from leading Travel Agencies, Airlines, and Journalists from Poland, as well as distinguished figures of the industry, who reinforced the international significance of the Forum and highlighted the strategic importance of the visit. Among them were the CEO, Deputy Commercial Director, and General Sales Director of LOT Polish Airlines, the Head of Development & Product of Europa Ubezpieczenia, the President and Vice President of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, and the President of Rainbow Tours S.A.
Their presence emphasized the pivotal role of the new direct air connection between Thessaloniki and Warsaw by LOT Polish Airlines, which opens new perspectives for strengthening tourist flows and tightening Thessaloniki–Poland relations.
Tuesday, September 30th
A particularly special event took place at the Thessaloniki City Hall, where the Mayor and President of Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis, welcomed the delegates, describing their presence as a “vote of confidence in Thessaloniki.” The General Director of Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Dr. Kyriaki Oudatzi, presented the city’s rich forms of thematic tourism, while the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Mr. Vassilis Gakis, highlighted Thessaloniki as a city-break and gastronomic destination worth visiting all year round. Following the presentations, B2B meetings were held between Polish professionals and local travel agents and hoteliers, further enhancing the prospects for commercial and tourism cooperation.
Official GALA at the Olympic Museum
The Gala Dinner hosted at the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki was one of the highlights of the Forum.The Polish delegation enjoyed a guided tour of the permanent exhibition “Olympic Games”, followed by a musical evening featuring singing and violin. The official guests showed particular interest in the connection between Olympic values and Thessaloniki’s vision for sustainable tourism development, as well as in the unique historical trophy of the 1906 Intercalated Games, which had been hosted in 2024 at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Lively Experiences, Flavors, and Images
During the five-day program, the Polish tourism professionals experienced first-hand the energy and vibrancy of Thessaloniki, toured its emblematic monuments, and tasted local specialties and wines. Their acquaintance with the wider Thessaloniki region was completed with a full-day tour in Pieria, organized by Pierian Organisation of Tourism Development and Promotion (POTAP).
Strategic Outlook
Hosting the Forum in Thessaloniki constitutes a milestone for the city’s international promotion, providing fertile ground for new partnerships and networking opportunities.The Polish tourism professionals expressed their enthusiasm for the hospitality, museums, history, and gastronomy of the city and the wider region, confirming that Thessaloniki is increasingly emerging on the Polish tourism map as a destination with a promising future.
