Greece’s tourism offerings were presented to US travel agents during the annual global convention of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA).
The event was originally scheduled to take place in Washington but, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was transformed into a virtual event and held under the name ASTA Global Live (AGL) during August 25-28.
Greece took part in the AGL event under the cooperation of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FedHATTA) with ASTA.
The online event included presentations, speeches, educational meetings and a digital exhibition. It provided ASTA’s members – travel agencies and tour operators operating in the US market and around the world – with information on the latest trends in the global tourism market.
During the ASTA Global Live event, the Greek participation held a “Virtual Embassy Tour” and offered ASTA members information on the country’s new developments and latest trends in attractions, food, culture and more.
Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, participated in the conference using all the technological tools and means at its disposal, presenting the city of Thessaloniki in GREECE ON AIR.
The digital multi-page magazine focuses on promoting alternative tourism in Greece to North American tourism professionals.
