A new festival is "born" in Thessaloniki, at the initiative of the Cultural Center of the Central Macedonia Region in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Thessaloniki. The "Eptapyrgio Festival" will take place from 2 to 22 July 2019 in the interior courtyard of Eptapyrgio,
A great celebration of spirit and culture with events from the field of music, theater and poetry. The Cultural Center of the Central Macedonia Region will collaborate with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the MOYSA Youth Orchestra and the National Theater of Northern Greece.
In total, ten performances will be given, 325 artists, 65 technicians will participate and it is estimated that the spectators will reach up to 7,600.
1st Eptapyrgio Festival

The productions of the Eptapyrgio Festival:
-2/7 "Summer Night Dream", based on Shakespeare's homonymous work in Mendelssohn music, with Akis Balta in the direction of the Orchestra and director Michal Siona.
-7/7 "Music of the Passion" by Vienna Met Trio with jazz and tango sounds.
-12, 14,16 and 18 July 2019 "Cavalleria Rusticana" by Pietro Mascagni in collaboration with the State Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki. "It will be a high-performance opera with great music," said the Art Director Zoi Tsokanou.
-17/7 "Eptapyrgio, a century in a day 1899-1989" by the National Theater of Northern Greece in the direction of Evi Sarmi. "At last we start something nice in Eptapyrgio and we could not miss it," said the art director of the National Theater of Northern Greece, Yannis Anastassakis.
-19 / 7 "Magical Night ...", a tribute to Mikis Theodorakis in collaboration with the symphony orchestra MUSA of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall and orchestration- music direction Panayi Barbati. "MOYSA will contribute to the sound of Theodorakis' music in order to all the world will hear it," MOYSA's assistant archbishop, Thodoris Papadimitriou, said.
-22/7 Evening poetry and music "Elytis meets Eliar" with a recitation of poems by Iulita Iliopoulou, narration of Yolanda Balaoura, music editing by Antonis Sousamoglou and artistic supervision by Anna Mykoniou.
