Dimitria Festival 2025– The original Wiener Johann Strauss Capelle

Thanasis Georgiou (designmono.gr) created the visual identity for the 60th Dimitria Festival. His concept revolves around the notion of Seasons and Time. The 100th anniversary of Manolis Anagnostakis’ birth coincides with the 60th anniversary of Dimitria. Therefore, the date is pivotal. The past and History guide the future, yet tomorrow also filters the best scenes of yesterday, as the city sails through time.

Thanasis Georgiou explains:
The city and the seasons, the city through the Seasons of Anagnostakis, within the now but also amidst an “Indeterminate future time.” From the proud peacock by artist Svoronos, which was the dominant image in the early signage of Dimitria, to the current multicolored, non-representational, continuous motion of Thessaloniki and its welcoming of what is to come. With a fan – a reference to Svoronos’ peacock and the past – which, symbolically, unfolds the desire for a colorful cultural mosaic of tomorrow.

The abstract approach, in vector motion, of this year’s visual identity and its applications directly engage with new channels of dialogue and communication, while also highlighting the spirit of celebration.
