Another 700 cruise tourists were welcomed in August by the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO).
The “Sea Cloud” arrived in the port of Thessaloniki bringing 60 tourists from the USA and Malta. The cruise ship remained in the port waiting for another 60 tourists, who travelled to Skiathos, the Aegean and the SE Mediterranean, to board.
TTO staff, welcomed another group of Cypriot travelers that arrived in Thessaloniki participating in a Pilgrim Tourism programme of the Synodal Office of the Church of Cyprus. The Synodal Office organized the cruise in Greece in collaboration with Salamis Tours and the cruise ship Salamis Philoxenia.
For the 120 participants-pilgrims of the Church of Cyprus (the cruise ship hosted 600 tourists in total), TTO in collaboration with the GNTO Cyprus, organized a warm welcome, offering a local treat, tourist guides and maps of the city for their tour to Byzantine monuments and monasteries of Thessaloniki. According to their schedule, they visited the Tomb of Agios Paisios, at the Monastery of St John the Theologian in Souroti, Thessaloniki.
It is the 5th year that the Synodal Office organized a cruise, with a total number of 6 stops at the Southern and Northern Aegean Sea and the 1st cruise that Thessaloniki was included.
