12th Thessaloniki Piano Festival

The 12th Thessaloniki Piano Festival will take place from March 28 to April 15, 2025, and is based on four main pillars.

In the five recitals of the central cycle of events, internationally recognized soloists will present diametrically opposed programs that attempt to encompass, as much as possible, the entire spectrum of musical styles and idioms. The piano artistry of Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, and Prokofiev will harmoniously engage with jazz culture and the element of improvisation, while the music of the great romantics Schumann and Liszt will converse with the unique Mikis Theodorakis.

For the first time, the chamber music series will be introduced at this year’s Festival with two concerts featuring outstanding rising artists, complemented by a unique screening-concert of silent cinema accompanied by live music.

The Festival’s parallel activities include masterclasses, workshops, presentations, and open lessons with educational content aimed at music students and teachers, as well as activities for children.

The events will culminate festively with the 6th Pan-Hellenic Piano Competition, where 41 young Greek pianists will compete, aiming not only for monetary prizes but also for opportunities to perform concerts in prestigious venues in Athens and Thessaloniki.
