New Paralia– Nea Pasarela – ‘Zozó Dalmas, a Free Woman

A legendary woman: the Greek diva, Zozó Dalmas, became the inspirational figure of this year’s catwalk – the muse of the designers!

The event will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. at the Garden of Sculptures, with free admission.

Zozó Dalmas (1900/05 – 1988), the Thessaloniki-born operetta star, as she wished to be remembered, was a dancer, singer, actress, lover, and muse. Her talent, personality, freedom, daring, beauty, and love affairs created around her an aura, a blend of myth and reality. Some surely still remember her as the blonde beauty depicted against a blue background on the well-known red cigarette tin. Desired in Greece, Egypt, Constantinople, Zozó thrilled crowds wherever she appeared!

59 costumes, 59 times Zozó Dalmas on the catwalk, through the inspired vision of 35 designers and design teams, using exclusively recycled or second-hand materials.

The focus was on the beginning of her career, in the Interwar period. A time when the fashion of the Roaring Twenties was thriving, followed by a period of austerity after the 1929 stock market crash – an era of hopes, disappointments, and refugee flows.

Music composition: Franky Gogo
Franky Gogo, from France, composed five different musical tableaux to accompany the passage of the 59 models. Five musical worlds from the complex canvas of the era, as interpreted through the life and adventures of the Greek diva. Just like the creation of the outfits with recycled materials, Franky Gogo used the technique of sampling (and therefore recycling) as the starting point for the composition. Thus, with musical excerpts of the time, recordings, interviews, and even Zozó’s own voice, he wove the soundscape of this 11th catwalk.
