THE BIGGEST SUMMER PARTY ON JUNE 30TH BY THE MUSIC FRIENDS ASSOCIATION

CONCERT HALL OF THESSALONIKI WITH FREE ADMISSION

The biggest summer party of Northern Greece will take place on Friday 30 June in the courtyard of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, organized, as every year, by the Association of Friends of Thessaloniki Music and with free entrance.

This year’s program is dedicated to the top hits of disco music on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the appearance of this music that established discotheques all over the world. The songs will be shown on a big screen from original video clips presented by Lefteris Kogalidis from his personal archive.

Next to the sea and with a huge moon -near a full moon- sprinkling the thousands of spectators with silver dust, dance music will take the lead throughout the evening at the huge party and, of course, dancing is allowed. Most of these video clips were not shown on Greek television at the time.

The list of the top 20 songs is based on Billboard magazine and the unique book Hot Dance/Disco which includes more than 8000 great disco hits from 1974-2003. Admission starts at 6pm where the first 300 people will find an equal number of chairs waiting for them. At the first two parties the attendance exceeded 5000 and as a result all the open spaces and stairs from the ground floor to the 5th floor of Megaron 2, on the lawns and up to twice as far as the sea.

The underground car park has 200 spaces and the charge for the whole night is 3 euros. Car parking is free of charge or for a fee in the surrounding area.

From 8-9 pm there will be a live program with dance school couples performing dance hits and talented female singers. The second part starts at 9pm with the video clips showing which will last until around 10.30pm.

A canteen will provide cold refreshments, water and sandwiches throughout the evening.
