This year’s theme: Byzantine Thessaloniki
This year’s festival is dedicated to a landmark era in the city’s history: Byzantine Thessaloniki.
The second most important city of the Byzantine Empire, Thessaloniki was for centuries a vibrant hub of ideas, arts, and spirituality. This year, the exhibition aims to bring this rich and multifaceted heritage to the forefront, with events and tributes that highlight the city’s Byzantine identity.
In collaboration with the new cultural organization “Byzantine Thessaloniki,” the festival will feature book presentations, themed lectures, exhibitions, and hands-on activities that showcase the city’s long-standing cultural identity as the co-capital of the empire.
