Residence of Kemal Ataturk

This residence was built at the end of 19^th century and is currently attached to the Turkish Consulate of Thessaloniki. Kemal Ataturk, the reformer of the Turkish nation and First President of the Turkish Republic, was allegedly born there in 1881. The first floor of the residence is occupied by the kitchen, living-rooms and the bedroom of Kemal’s mother, while the second one, houses his bedroom and his effigy of natural size, together with personal belongings and garments of the Turkish leader.
