You are lucky to have one more day at your disposal, which you can spend by making a refreshing excursion near Thessaloniki to admire the Macedonian Kings glory at the archaeological site and museum of Vergina. If you have time, go up to Olympus, the Mountain of ancient Gods or follow one of Thessaloniki and Northern’s Greece Wine Roads, visit one of the ‘Wines of North Greece’ Union’s winerie and taste fine wines. If you decide to stay in the city there are still many options. Continue east towards Vasilissis Olgas street, the former Exohon Avenue. It is the Avenue where in the late 19th – early 20th century, the richest families in Thessaloniki built grand villas, many of which exist today. Most of the villas have been converted into museums and cultural sites and are visitable. Discover them by following some of the Thematic Routes (Ottoman, Jewish, Modern Architecture). More here
