Château mon bonheur (the Tower of Eftichia)

A very particular building not only for its architecture but also for its history is the Château mon bonheur. It was built in 1890 from the plans of by Frederic Charnot and impresses with its medieval Venetian ramparts and the external red brick facades. The romantic love story of the Tower, as the original owner, Dimitris Tsakirdekis built the Château to house his love for his wife named Eftichia, makes this house unique not only as an architectural monument of modern Thessaloniki but also as a big love memorial! The Château mon bonheur is currently uninhabited and is in need of restoration.
