It is the home ground of PAOK football team, one of the most significant and most popular among the Thessalonians, always playing a leading part at the Super League Greek championship. PAOK won the Greek championship twice (1976, 1985) and the Greek Cup four times (1972, 1974, 2001, 2003).
Toumba Stadium was inaugurated in 1959, while major modifications took place ever since, including those of 2004, when a new four-storey building behind the main west stand was constructed. In Athens Olympics 2004 it was used as a training center.
Toumba Stadium has a capacity of 28.701 seats.
