2o Axios running Festival

For the second consecutive year the municipality of Chalkidona opens its gates to the public and invites runners, families and children, from Central Macedonia and all over Greece to take part in an event that will be a product of high tourist sport, while offering to those who take part all the beneficial effects of sport and exercise.

The Axios Running Festival will be divided into three routes of separate kilometres:

• 21 km race: starting from Koufalia Town Hall and finishing at the Military Museum of the Balkan Wars (Topsine), starting time: 8:30 am.
• 10 km race: starting at Prochoma and finishing at the Military Museum of the Balkan Wars (Topsine), starting time: 9:00.
• 5 km road race: starting at the Macedonian Tomb of St. Athanasios and finishing at the Military Museum of the Balkan Wars (Topsin), starting time: 10:30.
• 1 mile race: Starting at the D.A.K. of Gefyra (Indoor Gym) and finishing at the Military Museum of the Balkan Wars, starting time: 12:00.

This is an original environmental route through natural paths around the Axios River, while simultaneous cultural and artistic events are planned.
