Carnival in the Municipality of Thermi

The Municipality of Thermi, located in eastern Thessaloniki, is organizing a series of festive events for the 2025 Carnival, featuring traditional customs, music and dance, carnival parades, kite-flying, and Clean Monday celebrations in the local communities of the municipality.

Detailed event program:

Thermi Dam – Clean Monday, March 3, 2025: The most popular meeting spot for kite-flying, offering a full-day program for both children and adults.

Starting at 11:00 AM, visitors will enjoy Lenten delicacies and the largest pot of bean soup. At 12:00 PM, a beautiful traditional music performance by Kyriakos Gouventas and the popular band “Epi Skinis” will begin.

Additionally, modified food trucks offering Street Food will be present for those seeking a different culinary experience. The 1st Scout System of Thermi will also participate, providing activities for younger attendees.

Vasilika: A long-standing tradition celebrated for many years. Carnival events will kick off on Tsiknopempti, February 20, 2025, with live music, Vasilika sausages, and bread, as well as various masquerade parties.

The festivities continue on Sunday, March 2, 2025:

• With the “Camel with Horseshoes” tradition
• Culminating on Clean Monday with Lenten delicacies served early in the morning at the village square and:
  • A traditional wedding
  • A float parade
  • The burning of the Carnival effigy

Trilofos: For the second time, all organizations in the Trilofos Community will unite to host the 2nd Carnival Parade, featuring participation from all schools and various groups. The event will be followed by a traditional party and a festive Carnival celebration.
