Thessaloniki: Eptapyrgio Festival 2026 – Full Program, Concerts, Opera and Poetry

The Eptapyrgio Festival returns to Thessaloniki in the summer of 2026, presenting a rich and multifaceted program of events in one of the city’s most emblematic historical sites.

From June 17 to July 22, 2026, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy 16 original productions, designed exclusively for the festival.

With love and romance as the central theme, this year’s program aspires to highlight the power of human relationships through music, poetry and speech.

More than 330 artists and 40 technicians participate in the organization, confirming the role of the festival as one of the most important cultural institutions in Thessaloniki.

The Eptapyrgio Festival is one of the most recognized cultural institutions in Thessaloniki, combining theater, music, visual arts and experimental productions in a unique historical space, becoming a point of reference for the city’s cultural events every summer.

Since its first organization, the Eptapyrgio Festival has evolved into a leading cultural institution, hosting both international and domestic productions. Every year, cooperation with new artists and groups is strengthened, while the program is enriched with innovative theatrical and musical proposals, highlighting the creativity and cultural potential of Thessaloniki.

In the courtyard of Eptapyrgio, one of the most emblematic monuments of Thessaloniki, culture acquires a unique dynamic every year, connecting the past with contemporary artistic creation.

The 2026 program marks another step in the evolution and maturation of the festival. In total, seven original productions and sixteen events are presented, all designed exclusively for the event.

The theme of 2026 is dedicated to love and romance — timeless concepts that permeate the human experience and function as the main axis of the performances. Through music, poetry and speech, this year’s productions attempt to highlight the multiple facets of human relationships: affection, desire, companionship and the need for connection.

The festival opens with a major lyrical production, the opera “La Bohème” by Giacomo Puccini, in co-production with the Thessaloniki State Orchestra.

At the same time, the program includes concerts, musical performances, tributes and stage proposals that cover a wide range of artistic expressions.

With respect for the historical character of the Eptapyrgio monument and with the aim of creating meaningful cultural experiences, the Eptapyrgio Festival continues to evolve, strengthening the place of Thessaloniki on the cultural map of the country.

At the same time, through the accessibility of tickets and the care for special social groups, it seeks to keep culture open to all.
