This residence was built at the end of 19thcentury as a donation on behalf of the Greek government to the Turkish one and is currently attached to the Turkish Consulate of Thessaloniki. Kemal Ataturk, the reformer of the Turkish nation and First President of the Turkish Republic, was allegedly born there in 1881. The second floor houses his bedroom and his effigy of natural size, together with personal belongings, photos and garments of the Turkish leader.
