Church of Profitis Elias

Built over a natural mound, this 14^th century church, once dominated the city. It displays a unique representation of the athonic architectural type, with a fine dome and ceramic decorations which affected the Serbian mastery afterwards. The most distinguished of all, is the depiction of the Infanticide, classic sample of the final phase of the paleologan painting.
