Higher Education in Greece, according to the current legislation, is divided into two parallel sections of institutions, Universities and Technological Institutions (T.E.I.). Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki was established in 1983 with the number of students reaching up to 25,000 approximately.

It comprises of five faculties, more specifically:

  • Faculty of Technological Applications

  • Faculty of Agricultural Technology

  • Faculty of Medical Care

  • Faculty of Business Administration and Economics

  • Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition

These schools are divided into 21 Departments offering a high quality academic experience both in undergraduate and postgraduate levels alike, in a wide range of educational fields. Over 2,000 undergraduate and postgraduate courses are provided in Greek as well as in English, attended by Greek and European students. Additionally, the permanent academic personnel of all ranks is comprised by 430 people, and the administrative one by 220 employees.

It is located on the 15th km of the Thessaloniki – Athens National Road, at the outskirts of the village of Sindos, in an area of 1,600 acres, 900 of which are occupied by the farm and the greenhouse, stables, aviary, personnel facilities, teaching sites, farming services’ offices. In a space of 35,000m2, you can find the five Faculties operate in modern and well equipped buildings, as well as the first of the students’ dorms. The second one is located in the premises of the former “DELTA” Hotel in 13, Egnatia Street.

The transition of technology, from theory and scientific research to real application is the objective of Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. More specifically:

  • To provide a high quality education, both in undergraduate and postgraduate levels alike.

  • To offer a theoretical and practical oriented type of higher education.

  • To maintain a close collaboration with the respective production units and various sectors of economy related to its syllabus.

  • To co-operate with other academic institutions and related services for the fulfillment of its objectives.

  • To minister to the constant practice of its alumni and education of the Greeks.

  • To organize top research programmes.
