In its sixth decade of operation, University of Macedonia, the continuity of the historical Graduate School of Industrial Studies of Thessaloniki, is a modern state Higher Education institution, renowned for the ambience of quality. There are currently four departments operating at the university, with emphasis to administrative, economic, human and social-political sciences. Its goal is the significant contribution to the society and economic growth through research and scientific knowledge.
Four schools are currently operating and eight departments, 33 postgraduate programmes and 31 specialization programmes, with 20,234 Greek and 475 foreign students in total.
Factors determining the quality are the academic excellence of graduates and professors, the promoting of new scientific results through academic international publishing, the innovative teaching procedure, the modern infrastructure and the skilled administrative personnel.

Additionally, students can participate at AISEC programme, the largest international non-profit students’ organization that emphasizes on social issues and helps local communities develop a healthy and viable future through students’ exchange and practice programmes through volunteerism.
